The Sydney Paralympic Organising Committee (SPOC) 2000 Annual Report

DESCRIPTION
SPOC had the responsibility of planning and staging the XI Paralympic Games in accordance with the Host Contract signed with the IPC on 30 August 1995. Overall responsibility for the Games lay with the NSW Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games who was also a Member of the company.
VISION
To inspire the world by successfully staging a Paralympic Games which sets new standards in excellence to enable the athletes to achieve their best performance.
FUNCTIONS
The functions of SPOC under the constitution were to:
- organise and stage the Paralympic Games in Sydney, New South Wales, in the year 2000 in accordance with the Host City Contract between SPOC and the IPC
- organise the sports program, including preparing and operating all venues and facilities,
- organise accommodation and transport for athletes, team officials and official personnel,
- raise money to fund the operations of SPOC,
- promote the Paralympic movement and athletes with a disability,
