The Sydney 2000 Games Collection

Ceremonial fish from Olympic Opening Ceremony

The spirit of the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games is captured in the Sydney 2000 Games Collection. The Collection is a rich archive of sporting equipment, costumes, props and documents from the Games period.

While the Collection has been distributed to eleven museums throughout Australia, the major part of it is in Sydney's Powerhouse Museum, which maintains the central inventory for the collection of more than 1000 objects.

The Powerhouse Museum has developed an interactive database of the Collection that includes high-resolution zoomable images, audio interviews with designers, and design education modules for the senior curriculum.

The database is in the The Powerhouse Museum site.
