Badminton
Badminton is played by two or four players on an indoor court and involves hitting a shuttlecock over a net with a racquet.
Five medal events will be held at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games - men's singles and doubles, women's singles and doubles, and the mixed doubles. The total number of athletes in the badminton competition is 172, with a maximum of 86 men and 86 women.
